Part of producer/creator Irwin Allen's secret behind getting Voyage To the Bottom of the Sea on the air was the financing -- he'd already made the movie of the same name, and had the standing sets as well as all of the action and special effects footage from that film to draw on. "Turn Back The Clock" extended this concept -- most of the special effects and stock footage in the episode is drawn from his version of The Lost World (1960). The presence of Nick Adams also made this a notable episode, even if the plot was fairly predictable.
