Synopsis by Clarke Fountain
Peter has risen from his impoverished fishing background in Newfoundland to become a university professor in that same province. His girlfriend is a professor from Toronto who is in St. John's as a guest lecturer. When he arranges for the two of them to go to his family homestead away from the city, he anticipates a blissful time for all. Instead, it soon becomes painfully clear that their core cultural values are very different and their relationship is fundamentally flawed.
