With most foreign film markets cut off by WWII, Hollywood looked towards South America as an outlet for its releases -- and vice versa. The Argentine Un Nuevo Amanecer (A New Beginning) was designed as a showcase for handsome newcomer Carlos Cores. The star is cast as a reform-school alumnus who manages to land an honest job with the help of some friends. Cores falls in love with the boss' daughter, much to the dismay of the girl's erstwhile fiancee. The rival tries to frame Cores for a factory fire, but the truth comes out in the end, and our hero wins the girl.
