Although the plot of Treason sounds promising, the actual film is one of those early talkie Westerns in bad need of larger budgets and, most of all, a music score. Buck Jones is his usual stalwart self and Shirley Grey has the role of her career, but some of the supporting performances are quite poor and George B. Seitz's direction lacks pace.
