Review by Buzz McClain

Tiger Claws III is a far cry from the Hong Kong action feature it clearly aspires to be. The copious fights are staged so undramatically that the audience is never fearful that someone might get hurt, except by accident during the shooting of the scene. The story, with its mixture of supernatural hokum and low-level mobster story lines, is as phony as Jalal Merhi's acting. Cynthia Rothrock, as always, steals the show, which isn't easy this time because her role is so woefully taken for granted. Still, she seems a good sport about it, but if she really wanted to use her martial arts skills in a useful manner, she would judo kick writer/director J. Stephen Maunder right where he lives and make him give her some interesting scenes.
