Patience Worth (Nell Craig) chafes under the rule of her strict Quaker father (Ernest Maupain), so she leaves the farm and comes to the big city. In spite of her quaint ways, she becomes an artist's model. The artist loves her, but she becomes fascinated with a writer. Instead of proposing marriage, however, the writer proposes that she become his mistress, so she weds the artist instead. Then, out of fear that she will give in to the writer's temptations, she goes home to father. Her father, who has been waiting and praying for her, welcomes her with open arms. A few days later, when the artist shows up to claim her, he welcomes him, too, and the couple are reunited.
