The Voice of Dust and Ash, directed by Mandana Biscotti, explores the music of Iranian artist Mohammad Reza Shajarian. The film covers Shajarian's music and lyrics, much of which speaks of the freedom Iranian people deserve. While he was not against the Iranian regime, he never shied away from being outspoken against particular members or actions of the government, especially when the regime banned music and performances in the entire country.
