Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Big Hobart Bosworth plays Big Bill Brent in the five-reel redemption melodrama The Target. After killing a man in a barroom brawl, discredited attorney Brent is sentenced to 15 years in stir. While behind bars, Brent befriends fellow inmate Jack Taylor (Robert Bradbury), who has been framed on a murder rap. The two pals break out of jail and head for Alaska, where they rescue beautiful shipwreck victim Nita (Jane Novak). Both men fall in love with the heroine, but she obviously prefers Jack. Realizing that he's in the way, Brent heads back to the States to serve the remainder of his prison sentence -- an act of selflessness that neatly patches up the rift between our hero and his saintly mother (Anna Lehr).
