Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Harold Merwin (Hal Forde) falls in love with Lorna, an untamed country girl (Alice Hollister). But his mother (Helen Lindroth) is determined that he shall marry Rena, an heiress (Ethel Eastcourt). She manages to get her way by discouraging Lorna, who goes insane when Harold weds Rena. The couple have a son, Neal, who grows up to look remarkably like his father (perhaps that's because he's also played by Hal Forde). When Neal falls in love with Josie, a poor girl, Harold remembers his own thwarted romance and tries to get him Rena's approval. Neal and Josie elope and on the way to the old Merwin mansion, they run across Lorna, who has become an old hag. She thinks Neal is Harold and tries to talk to him, but Neal brushes her off. Josie is grabbed by the angry Lorna and Neal has to come to her aid. Meanwhile, Harold and Rena have come looking for the newlyweds, so Harold and Lorna come face-to-face once again. The shock of their meeting overcomes Lorna, who dies in Harold's arms.
