Synopsis by Jason Buchanan

Experience the final chapter in the saga of Yasser Arafat in intimate detail as filmmaker Sherine Salama embarks on a compelling quest to land an exclusive interview with the controversial Chairman of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. A Palestinian-Australian filmmaker who, in September of 2003, began to lobby officials and ingratiate herself with Arafat's handlers and aides in a efforts to establish a formal dialogue with the Nobel Peace Prize co-recipient, Salama presents a fascinating look at the day-to-day existence in the ageing leader's heavily-fortified compound. In October of 2004, just one month before his mystery-shrouded death in Paris, Arafat agreed to grant Salama what would eventually become his final interview. Not only does Salama's conversation with Bassam Abu Sharif provide the only known footage of Arafat's former senior advisor in a film addressing the issues of Palestine, but by paying particular attention to the words and actions of the supporting players in the compelling Arafat saga the filmmaker offers unparalleled insight into the hot-button issues that continue to ripple throughout the Middle East.
