Synopsis by Mark Deming
In 1963, Judy Garland, who was hoping to get her career back in gear, signed a contract with CBS to star in a weekly variety series, The Judy Garland Show. The legendary singer had little trouble persuading some of the biggest names in show biz to make guest appearances on her show, and this home-video collection features a few of the great artists who performed alongside Garland on the short-lived series. The Judy Garland Show: Legends includes performances by Barbra Streisand, Ethel Merman, Ray Bolger, Mickey Rooney, Tony Bennett, Count Basie and his Orchestra, Peggy Lee, Bobby Darin, Liza Minnelli, and more.
