Synopsis by Janiss Garza

Estelle Redding (Claire Anderson) and Hamilton Hill (Wellington Cross) meet when he sees her being accosted by a pair of men. The men, it turns out, are after her parasol, or rather, the plans for a coal substitute which are secreted in the parasol's handle. Estelle gives the parasol to Hamilton and one of the men, Edward Burnham (Joe Bennett), tries to get his hands on the plans, eventually kidnapping Hamilton. The inevitable German spies pop up (this film, after all, was made during World War I) and try to force the secret out of Estelle. But Hill manages to escape and rescue Estelle. The spies and bad guys are all put in their place and Estelle and Hamilton end up together. This picture was based on a short story by Fred Jackson which appeared in Live Stories magazine earlier that year.
