Synopsis by Augustine Chay
Director Joe Mantello’s LGBT drama film is an adaptation of Mart Crowley’s 1968 play of the same name. Starring Jim Parsons, Zachary Quinto, Matt Bomer, Andrew Rannells, and Charlie Carver, it narrates the interpersonal revelations that ensue when a group of gay men attend a birthday party at an Upper East Side apartment in New York during the pre-Stonewall era. Alcohol consumption leads to a “game” that prompts each participant to call up and confess to a person he has loved.
