Alfredo Rizzo's peculiar amalgam of Gothic horror, lurid sexploitation, and Old Dark House murder mystery uses these disparate trappings to mask what is, at heart, a fairly ordinary giallo thriller. In the hands of a better filmmaker, it might have been an interesting pastiche, or even played as a clever spoof, but Rizzo appears to have made the whole thing up as he went along, and one wonders if his screenplay credit should actually belong to a gofer jotting down scenes improvised during production. Nevertheless, the film has attracted something of a cult following after its DVD release by Redemption USA and features some nice turns by genre veterans Stuart and De Rossi, as well as appearances by Femi Benussi, Krista Nell and Luciano Pigozzi (aka Alan Collins).
