Review by Robert Firsching

The same year as producing John Saxon's regrettable directorial debut, Death House, Nick Marino produced and directed this substandard horror film which will nonetheless have a great deal of interest for genre completists. The real fun to be had in Terror Night is its virtually limitless source of bizarre trivia for dedicated exploitation buffs. With Aldo Ray, Alan Hale, Jr., Dan Haggerty, Jay Richardson, and John Ireland in the cast, it has enough curiosity value to almost make it worth watching. Cameron Mitchell is around as well, and those who remember him killing porn star Kelly Nichols in her bath in 1978's The Toolbox Murders might get a sense of deja vu as porn star Jamie Summers is decapitated in her bath in this Mitchell film. The porn connections don't stop there -- Ray was in Sweet Savage, co-star Michelle Bauer was in Cafe Flesh under the name "Pia Snow," and 2nd Unit Director Fred J. Lincoln has made over 200 adult films, although he has horror pedigrees as well, having co-starred as Weasel in the groundbreaking Last House on the Left. Aside from the movie-nerd value, however, there isn't much going on here other than naked teenagers getting killed, a formula which has more than worn out its welcome.
