Review by Jeremy Wheeler

Well here's something new -- a nebbish girl that dabbles in witchcraft mistakenly gets killed by a group of her hot teen colleagues during a prank, after which each one are dealt a deadly lesson when she comes back as a smokin' babe. Yep, it's time to play connect the plots, a fun game that's endlessly more entertaining than the flick in question, Tamara. Sure, it has some blood and one super-sexual leading young lady, but aside from lonely frustrated horror fiends, there's little in here that will make general audiences think it is any different from the multitudes of other straight-to-DVD junk out there. Spurred on by a massive Internet hype that garnered it a limited theatrical run, the people behind Tamara should thank the stars that anyone even knows about their film, never mind that a few folk are being roped into thinking that it might be good. Considerable screen time is dedicated to your usual I Know What You Did Last Summer quagmire, with extra slasher beats thrown in for good measure in the third act. A few gore moments are in store for the horror fans that hopefully wouldn't have already seen them through the numerous "exclusive clips" distributed throughout all of the genre websites before its release. A bit of praise goes out to the audacious finale, where the filmmakers take a detour and try the sad and artsy route, a gutsy move considering how generic the rest of this time-waster is.
