Leo Borlock (Graham Verchere) is never one to want the spotlight. He is content with his decent grades and his role in the school’s marching band. However, everything changes when he meets Stargirl (Grace VanderWaal), the new student who loves her ukelele and stands out from the crowd. Her eccentricity becomes a subject of ridicule amongst the students, but Leo is enamored. Soon enough, the two forge a connection. However, Leo soon realizes that he, too, is being shunned by his classmates. This adaptation of Jerry Spinelli’s novel is directed by Julia Hart.
