Synopsis by Mark Deming

In the Southernmost region of Argentina, not far from Antarctica, a handful of men live in one of the most barren and lifeless places on Earth. Cut off from the world at large and enjoying little contact with one another, these men have chosen to live a life of utter solitude. Filmmakers Carlos Casas and Fernando Zuber offer a glimpse into the lonely world these men call home in the documentary Soledad al fin del Mundo. Created as part of a series of films for Colors Magazine, Soledad al fin del Mundo (aka Solitude At The End Of The World) was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
