In this dream-within-a-dream story, Gladys Brockwell plays a prima donna who, under ether, dreams of a past life when she vamped a Christian disciple named Paulus (William Scott). The romance ends tragically and takes up again some 2,000 years later when singer Elinor Duane (Brockwell again) meets minister Paul Kingston (Scott). The reincarnated lovers recognize each other and once again their romance comes to a bad end, this time with Duane poisoning herself after accidentally killing Kingston's father. After all these traumatic visions, the prima donna wakes up, and is no doubt glad that it was all just a dream.
