A project from the assembly-line of softcore porn purveyor Zalman King, this made-for-TV movie features X-Files star David Duchovny. After his fiancée, torn between her love for him and a buff construction worker, commits suicide, he pores over her diaries as he tries to make sense of her action. Slowly, he comes to realize that it was his lack of understanding and sensitivity that may have led to this tragedy, and makes a noble decision to further his knowledge of the female gender by placing a newspaper ad asking women to send him details of their erotic lives. The premise may sound laughable, but the long-running television series seems to have appealed to the women who were its target audience. This pilot, except for the work of Duchovny and Brenda Vaccaro, is an exercise in amateurism.
