The innovative and highly individualized late Armenian filmmaker Sergei Parajanov is profiled in this German documentary. It primarily consists of several interviews Parajanov gave during a 1988 retrospective in Munich. The interviews proved insight into his filmmaking techniques and into the working conditions of the Soviet Union. According to him, Soviet filmmakers in his generation lived in constant fear.
