Left home alone on her birthday by her insensitive, domineering husband Harrison (Robert Douglas), Sylvia Ackroyd (Maria Palmer) "invents" a secret admirer by guiding her fingers to certain letters on a ouija board. Much to her amazement, Sylvia finds that her dream lover Jeremy (Albert Carrier) actually exists. Or rather, he actually existed: In fact, Jeremy lived and died years before Sylvia was even born. . .and it may be that she did not choose the ouija-board letters by her own free will.
