Synopsis by Mark Deming
A young girl is so convinced her parents don't see her that she puts it to the test in this independent comedy-drama. Cathy (Wynona Ringer) is six years old and spends every Friday evening the same way -- her parents strap her into her car seat and drive out to their cottage in the country, barely paying any attention to her en route and seeming more concerned with their own fun than hers until it's time to head home. Cathy begins to suspect the reason her folks don't acknowledge her more is she's invisible, and when she tricks them into leaving without her when they set out for the city, she tests her survival skills and uses her vivid imagination to conjure up a magical world around her, making friends with the animals in the woods. A Pas De Loup (aka On The Sly) was directed, edited, and co-written by Olivier Ringer, who also cast his daughter Wynona Ringer in the lead.
