Synopsis by Mark Deming

A woman repeatedly falls victim to the prejudice and ignorance of men in this short drama from filmmaker Guillermo Ríos Bordón. A woman who as part of an arranged marriage has been wedded to a man she doesn't love is viciously raped by a strange man. The rape leaves her pregnant, and she gives birth to a daughter. When her husband learns that the rapist fathered their baby, the woman is charged with adultery, and is sentenced to be stoned to death. Nasija was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
