Max Jenkins (Tom Plumley), a video game store clerk, accidentally unleashes the “Curse of the Ages” in his small town upon activating an old-school video game. It turns out that the game’s cartridge houses the Nether, a supernatural evil force that slowly takes over every human being who comes in contact with the game – and it will worsen if the game goes mobile. His only hope comes in the form of old-school gaming masters Eugene (Greg Grunberg) and Barton (Joseph D. Reitman) who know how to beat this strong and powerful entity.
