Synopsis by Olivia Cantor
Written and directed by Pan Nalin, this coming-of-age drama is about Samay (Bhavin Rabari), a young boy from an Indian rural town who discovers the magic of thirty-five-millimeter cinema and falls in love with the art form. He starts skipping school to hitch a train ride to the movie house and has befriended its film projectionist. Every visit, Samay offers him his packed school lunch in exchange for staying inside the projection room to watch films for free. However, things are about to change when the cinema owner decides to shift from presenting celluloid films to digital ones.
