A performance by jazz legend Julian "Cannonball" Adderley and his quintet is captured in this guest appearance on Jazz Casual, music critic Ralph J. Gleason's renowned series for National Educational Television. Originally broadcast in 1961, and shot in black-and-white, this rare footage features Adderley on saxophone, his brother and longtime collaborator Nat Adderley on trumpet, and a young Joe Zawinul (later of Weather Report) on piano. The footage also includes Gleason interviewing Adderley. Among the songs performed is Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson's "Arriving Soon."
