With their documentary Invisible Girlfriend, filmmakers David Redmon and Ashley Sabin have sensitively captured the strange existence of Charles Fihiol, a man who would be unbelievable if glimpsed in a fiction film. To see his girlfriend, Charles embarks on a curse-filled 400-mile trip on his bike that takes him from Monroe to New Orleans. But Charlie's girlfriend -- Joan of Arc -- is invisible, and his journey bears a striking resemblance to The Wizard of Oz when he encounters a witch and a tin man.
