An inventor returns home to solve the mystery of his own death after discovering that rumors of his untimely demise are swirling amongst the locals in this independent comedy. Seven years ago, Joe Zopp's parents squandered the proceeds from his greatest invention. Devastated, he left town vowing never to return. Since then Joe has been living a life of anonymity. All of that changes when a former classmate reveals to Joe that everyone back home believes him to be dead. Now, in order to unravel the source of this unsettling rumor, the embittered inventor will travel back to his hometown and assume the role of intrepid detective. Perhaps if Joe can just maintain his low profile long enough to uncover the truth, he can finally leave the past behind and pick up where he left off seven long years ago.
