Despite a cast full of beautiful name starlets (Mari Nagisa, Midori Enoki, Nami Katsura), this flatscreen remake of the 3-D S&M film Hentaima (also directed by Koji Seki) offers little to entice the casual viewer. Kohei Tsuzaki, who played the heroic police detective in the original, here stars as the brutal rapist who kidnaps young women, beating and violating them with psychotic abandon. Neither as startlingly inventive as its predecessor nor as freakishly perverse as many of its imitators, this is just another of the hundreds of sadistic rape movies which flooded Japanese screens for over three decades.
