Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This romantic melodrama takes place in rural Finland. The "heroine," if one can call her that, is a scheming young lady from the teeming metropolis of Helsingfors. Arriving in a bucolic farming village, the little vixen plots to break up a pair of lovers and claim the man for herself. She comes to a bad end, but has a lot of fun getting there. Usually, an English translation of the title was provided by Finnish filmmakers to American reviewers. In the case of Houkutuslintu, no such translation was offered, indication perhaps that the producers didn't intend to release the film internationally.
