Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein

Directed by Benjamin Christensen, who would later become quite notable, this Danish silent film was a classic romantic melodrama about an escaped criminal who "steals" his own child from an orphanage before seeking refuge at a nearby manor home. The daughter of the house agrees to help him feed the child but the escaped prisoner is arrested once again. Paroled after 14 years, the reformed man learns that his child has been adopted by the same girl who once came to his assistance. Christensen played the escaped convict himself in this the only notable film from the now forgotten Dansk Biografkompagni ("Danish Biograph Company").
