This picture was a tour de force for Danish filmmaker Benjamin Christie -- he wrote, produced and starred in it for Dansk Biograf. Strong John (Christie) has been convicted of murder even though he is innocent. He escapes and takes his baby boy with him as he seeks a place of refuge. They end up in the home of a wealthy family. He tells the daughter, Ann (Martha Sanger), that he only wants milk for his son, but when she goes downstairs she is forced to reveal John's whereabouts. As John is taken away he swears revenge on the girl. Fourteen years later he is released on good behavior, a shell of his former self. When he goes to the orphanage to fetch his son, he finds that he has been adopted by a veiled woman who insisted on anonymity. John winds up at a house with a gang of burglars and realizes it is the house where Ann now lives. She has married a doctor, so he gets the idea to lure the doctor away from his home so he can kill Ann. He calls for the doctor, and imprisons both him and his adopted son (who just happens to be John's boy) so he can go to Ann. But the boy escapes from the closet in which he has been locked and he and the doctor call the police just in time to save Ann from being strangled. John is shot by the cops but before he dies, he learns that the boy is his son and that the perpetrator of the original crime has finally confessed.
