Review by Hans J. Wollstein

It is often stated that William Boyd and Tim Holt thoroughly enjoyed their status as B-Western heroes and had little or no desire to cross over into more mainstream movie making. Interestingly, the two genre stars had more than pride of work in common, including fine location filming at Lone Pine's picturesque Alabama Hills and director Leslie Selander. The latter, who helmed Guns of Hate at, yes, Lone Pine, was one of the best at his chosen profession: the creation of fast-paced, no-nonsense B-Western entertainment. And although the plot here is routine (number three in the B-Western screenwriter's manual: the stolen map), Selander's direction packs the necessary punch and the hour or so of gunplay goes by in a painless flash.
