Synopsis by Clare Perez-Izaguirre Lopez
This documentary, skipping between Bangkok, Thailand and the isolated islands of Indonesia, chronicles the lifelong dedication of the Thai woman, Patima Tungpuchayakul, and her activist collaborators, who regularly risk their lives to attempt to save victims of the slave fisherman trade. Every year, hoards of Asian men are kidnapped and forced to work on fishing boats catching seafood. But with the help of Patima, they stand a chance of escaping, and seek closure. Directed by Jeffrey Waldron and Shannon Service.
