Directed by Igor Sunara, this drama set in Manhattan deals with the struggles of Asian student Julia Chamonix (Ha Phuong) as she attempts to adapt to life as a student in the United States, despite her inability to master the English language and the haunting memories of the car crash that killed her mother. Living a fortunate life with her attentive father (Andrew McCarthy), Julia also enjoys a close relationship with her Vietnamese grandmother (Kieu Chinh), but nothing can save her from the flashbacks of her mother’s death, despite the opportunities in front of her.
