Synopsis by Hal Erickson

This 96-minute documentary is a filmed record of the recent Eucharistic Congress in Chicago. Beginning with preliminary services in Rome, the four-day religious ceremony was held at Soldiers' Field, with closing services at nearby Mundelein, Illinois. This was altogether fitting, in that the event was supervised by His Eminence, George Cardinal Mundelein, in cooperation with the Congress' secretary, Chicago's Monsignor Quille. A million people participated in the event, encouraging the film's distributors to ship out the picture on a nationwide roadshow basis. The film was distributed by Fox Film Corporation, which refused to accept any remuneration for its participation. The New York premiere of Eucharistic Congress was held at the Roxy Theater, replete with a lavish prologue staged by theater owner S. L. Rothafel himself.
