A fatherless Russian boy plays hooky and goes looking to purchase a daddy in downtown Moscow in this light-hearted children's drama. The whole story is filmed from the plucky child's viewpoint. While in the city, he has many fun adventures, but the best of all is when he meets a kindly gentleman who takes him to the carnival. Eventually, the nice man returns the happy boy to his home. The lad introduces him to his mother and then the man leaves with the boy secretly dreaming that the fellow will return and be his papa.
