Synopsis by Nathan Southern
The impassioned and refreshing Britpop of Coldplay garnered a widespread and loyal following during the first decade of the new millennium, with the release of the band's critically and commercially successful albums Parachutes (2000), A Rush of Blood to the Head (2002), and X&Y (2005). Coldplay: Love Actually -- a new documentary on the band -- traces Coldplay's rapid rise to the top of the album charts, the band's musical influences, and its dramatic legacy in the American and British music scenes. The film utilizes rare early footage of Coldplay as well as interviews with group members and their friends and colleagues to tell the story of the band's ascent to fame and to showcase its style and approach.
