Broadway Rising, directed by Amy Rice, tells the story of the theater shutdown caused by the COVID pandemic and the triumphant return of Broadway. The film chronicles all the effort required to take an industry that shut down completely and bring it back to life in a comparative instant. Through interviews with performers, designers, and everyone else involved in stage production, the viewer gains an idea of what it takes to keep Broadway moving and how important an industry that is considered "non-essential" really is.
