Synopsis by Hans J. Wollstein
Former Mack Sennett comedienne Phyllis Haver starred in this silent melodrama about a callous girl who marries for convenience in order to inherit an eccentric uncle's fortune. The chosen groom is honest auto mechanic Frank Mayo, who soon suffers the indignity of finding his new wife in the arms of playboy Nigel Barrie. Learning that the uncle (Charles A. Stevenson) has lost his fortune, the playboy makes a quick getaway, leaving Haver to discover true love with her patient mechanic. Anderson Smith, Frank Whitson, and veteran femme fatale Kathleen Kirkham also appeared in this minor effort which screenwriter George Randolph Chester based on a 1910 novel by George Gibbs.
