Synopsis by Mark Deming

One man's efforts to win back the woman of his dreams go spectacularly wrong in this black comedy. Photographer Nicolás (Federico Lorusso) is madly in love with his beautiful girlfriend Margarita (Catalina Aristizábal), but when his boss Pablo (Victor Mallarino) meets her, he became so infatuated that he not only steals Margarita away from Nicolás, Pablo makes her his wife. Nicolás's life turns into a train wreck, and he becomes obsessed with breaking up their marriage. Convinced Pablo is cheating on Margarita, Nicolás rents a room from Rosemary (Verónica Orozco) in order to spy on Pablo; as it happens, Rosemary is sleeping with Walter (Luis Eduardo Arango), a police detective who is married to someone else. One night, Nicolás catches Pablo in the act with Alexandra (Carolina Gómez), a sexy would-be actress, and Nicolás threatens to tell Margarita everything he knows. Pablo surprises Nicolás by telling him he's tired of Margarita and would pay Nicolás to kill her. Outraged, Nicolás refuses, but imagines that being able to expose Pablo's scheme to Margarita would be a sure way to win back her heart, especially when he discovers some incriminating information about Walter. However, Nicolás' plan to stage a fake murder to frame Pablo only puts him in hot water with Walter and does nothing to win back Margarita. Bluff was the first feature film from Colombian writer and director Felipe Martinez.
