Steven Seagal continues his straight-to-DVD streak with Black Dawn, a ho-hum crime drama charading as an action-packed apocalyptic flick. This time, the meaty man in black is a nuclear weapons expert of all things! The plot is bare, with mild twists of undercover cop drama all adding up to a whole lot of talk and little action. Sadly, Seagal doesn't really let loose with his patented Aikido moves, though there is a wham-bang truck chase scene at the half-hour mark that surprisingly pulls off a Terminator-like intensity. Nice stunt work highlights a few other moments, but not much else in this sleeper is really worth mentioning.
