Although fairly progressive by 1931 standards, Big Business Girl's Loretta Young finally does give up career advancements and Ricardo Cortez in favor of love and marriage. Not that anyone can blame her; Cortez is just too smooth to be trustworthy and surrounds himself with such tarnished angels as Joan Blondell. The latter actually provides the little comedy-drama's brightest moments playing one of those daffy gold-diggers that became her early specialty.
