Synopsis by Eleanor Mannikka
Igor (Vladimir Gostioukhin), a young miner, becomes romantically involved with Sonia (Irina Dymtchenko) while they are both on vacation at a seaside resort. Unfortunately, Sonia reveals that she is not only a married woman, but also an expectant mother. Igor is undaunted by this news and keeps after Sonia, completely unaffected by the reactions of her husband and family. In the end, Sonia relents and leaves her basically unsatisfactory marriage to pursue a life with Igor. Once the couple is together, Sonia begins to have second thoughts as she sees her newfound, independent thinking as something of an asset -- and looks at Igor with more open eyes than in the past.
