Synopsis by Sarah Block
Renowned session guitarist Abe Laboriel brings his years of experience to this instructional program for beginning and intermediate bass-guitar players. Having performed with jazz and funk legends such as Herb Alpert, Al Jarreau, George Benson, Quincy Jones, and Lee Ritenour, Laboriel teaches techniques from these masters, as well as offering students insight into his own unique style. Segments include instruction in thumping, slapping, snapping, and popping, as well demonstrations of the right hand technique, funk rhythm, playing with a drummer, pentatonic scales, and triads.
