Review by Cavett Binion

In this cheap nature-run-amok horror film, Jason Evers plays a government scientist whose secret hemoglobin experiments result in the poisoning of an entire town's supply of drinking water, causing homicidal behavior among the populace. Worse, the contaminated water manages to reach the ocean, where fishermen discover the local fish are really biting... hard. The inept cast trudges to the rescue, but no one will pay much attention. This muddled attempt at ecological horror plays like a dull version of Joe Dante's Piranha (the two often double-billed on the drive-in circuit), which was itself a clever, joke-heavy knock-off of Jaws. Too bad the makers of this film didn't have Dante's sense of humor, since this is a film begging to be made fun of. Also known as The Lucifer Project.
