Synopsis by Sandra Brennan
This tuneful Italian documentary will delight fans of Brazilian music, particularly those who follow artists from the early '80s. Filled with such superstars as Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Veloso, Nana Vasconcelos and Joao Gilberto, it is a chronicle of an extraordinary concert held at the Rome Forum's Circus Maximus in August, 1983. The documentary was originally directed by Gianni Amico, who also staged the concert. Because Amico died during post-production, it was shelved until the mid '90s. In the interim, co-doirector Leon Hirszman also passed away.
