Synopsis by Hal Erickson

Created by The Real World's Bunim-Murray Productions, the Lifetime reality series America's Psychic Challenge followed sixteen self-proclaimed psychics (both professional and amateur) as they attempted to prove their second-sight skills in a progression of "clairvoyant challenges". Throughout the series' eight episodes, the contestants applied their talents to unsolved crimes, missing-person cases, and sometimes simply plain, old-fashioned fortune telling. Gradually the number of particpants per episode was whittled down to two finalists, who were invited to match wits with the following week's contestants until the ultimate grand-prize finale. Spurred by the popularity of the thematically similar Lifetime effort Lisa Williams: Life Among the Dead, and hosted by John Burke, America's Psychic Challenge debuted October 12, 2007.
