Directed by Sofia Alvarez, this adaptation of Sarah Dessen’s novel follows Auden (Emma Pasarow), who has always felt that she never had a proper childhood due to being too academically focused. Her parents’ divorce and separate living situations also complicated things, contributing to her insomnia. Before heading off to college, she accepts her father’s invitation to spend her summer with him and his new family. While there, she meets a few locals her age and bonds with a fellow insomniac named Eli (Belmont Cameli), who’s a bit of an outsider in the sleepy seaside town.
